Hi -

Has anyone by chance run into this?: (I've tried searching, but could not find anything)

Car: 2007 525i?Outside Temp 23 Degrees?This happens daily during the winter months.

During the first ten minutes of driving, the heater blower will cycle on and off from Defroster to the lower vent settings every five seconds . (From defroster vent, to lower vent, back to Defroster, etc, etc etc.)
This will go on and on for about 10-15 minutes or so and then it?ll just stay on the Heater settings, which all is then good. It?s almost as if the car is confused whether or not it wants? the blower on the front Defrosters or Lower Vents.

I pulled up my Climate Settings in the IDrive and the three bars on the left (for the Driver) will go from a full bar on the top (defroster) for five seconds, then to a medium/full bar at the bottom for five seconds then back to full Defroster. Confused yet?

I?ve tried taking it out of AUTO Mode and it made no difference. I also put the fan on low setting and this still occurs.

Is this normal behavior? Bad Thermostat? Bad Blower? Bad Temp Sensor?

Thanks for the reply! I think I have a differnt issue than you. Even if I take it out of Auto Mode the air still cycles back and forth every five seconds from the windshield to the floor and vise versa.

I have a 2007 530XI and have almost the same exact problem. When the heat is auto mode the vent setting keep changing? Did you ever resolve this?
