I have read the book but I still don't get setting my climate control. Seems like I'm always getting cold air blown on my legs when I'm driving. I have the middle set all the way to red (hot) think it's like 5 lines and I set the leg blowing to like 2 lines or clicks... what do u guys (or girls) have it set to for ultimate climate settings? So now summer I have to set it to all the way to blue (middle setting) for cold

I assume you are referring to the temperature control in the iDrive "Air Distribution" screen. That does NOT control the temperature of ANY vents except the face vents.
You need to use the facia-mounted temperature knobs for that.
What you should do is to:
0. Make sure your climate control is set to "Auto" (green light on), then choose if you want to have a/c on or off (probably off right now in Boston)
1. Set a temperature you are comfortable with using the dials on the facia (NOT the iDrive) - say 70F / 21 C
2. Choose one of the automatic air distribution programmes from the iDrive climate menu - say Mid, and set the face vent temperature control to white (i.e. same temp as the rest of the car)
3. Let the car warm up, then once temperature is stable do your fine adjustments to face vent temperature and air distribution. Personally, I find the programming on the air distribution very good, and I never need to adjust it. Face vent temp needs adjusting every now and then, but only if the outside temperature changes a lot.

That is what I tried first I even put it up to like 75-80 and it's always blowing cold air on my legs so I thought maybe I should play around with the auto climate control and that didn't work, so I thought maybe I was doing something wrong or maybe something was wrong w/my heater

You do get warm air to come out of some vents, eventually, or not even that?
If you get no/little warm air anywhere, it's possibly an airlock or low coolant level. Have you checked that, before bringing the car into the dealer? (you can't really "check" for an airlock, but if there are no leaks and the liquid level is OK (or high), an airlock is a good chance).
If you get warm air out of some vents, but only cold/lukewarm air out of the footwell ones, then it's either an actuator/servo that is gone or - more likely, if it's on both sides - the control unit has gone crazy. Try re-setting it by disconnecting the battery for an hour or so. If that does not work, then it's off to the dealer, I'm afraid.
Good luck!

I have the same problem. It seems to get better after I dive for more than 20 minutes or more. This is the second winter with this car and I've tried different settings. The + and - adjustment in the I-drive is confusing to me. The cold air is at the knee level. Feet and upper body seem OK.

Your car needs seeing to. My drive (to the station) is not much longer (it's 6 miles on a rural, wide road) and I have a warm car (and toes) by about 1.5 miles in. Fair enough, it's normally not that cold over here, but this morning it was low 20s, and I was OK.
