CIP and SW version explanations - my "theory" :)

Ok, i think this info is exactly what my service manager explained to me because when i received my car there were newer updates released already. He said that not every CIP has a newer software for e60s so i didnt have to update it as the newer ones only had software upates for other cars.
What is great about this is that maybe now we can finally know what software our car has without asking our techs and have a better understanding of which softaware updates include which fixes and if its advisable to update from lets say 16.2 to 16.3.
Anyway, i checked in the hidden menu and this is what I found.
E60 I-06-04-500 PL2 I-4-45 MASK MMI T
All i know is that my car has a 06/04 build date for sure, and i've never updated my software. so anyone has a guess which CIP included this software?
By the way, any of our german speaking friends know what does "kodierdatensatz" means? it is in my cars specs so i would like to know if i came with a secret weapon i dont know of

There is still nothing that proves that the "hidden menu" give any information about CIP version (or E60 version.)
The dealer is still the only known way to determine what version the car is running...

Makes perfect sense... but we have to start including the information in posts till we can get a handle on if the software version is infact the lowest common denominator.
The first time I asked my German dealer what software version (before I knew the term CIP) he said something about vierhundert und something something (don't remember the number) it didn't make any since to me at the time. My German is not so good and his English wasn't either so I just dropped it because he was looking at me like I was crazy when I was saying the number was too big. So I am the crazy one and he was telling me the software version all along. So not all dealers deal in CIP version only even the German ones!
