While driving under Nav guidance, I used to have the big part of the screen showing the radio stations and the small window with the panoramic Map. Just before some action to be taken, the small windows used to toggle from Map to Arrows to show me how the action should be taken, besides voice, of course, what was really nice.
Now that my car was updated to CIP 20, it no longer behaves that way. It now stays on map forever and if forces me to use both windows for navigation!!!
Has anyone of you guys experiencing this annoying situation?

 

Hi I have noticed that too but are you sure it it is since cip 20. I use map in the big screen and arrow in yhe small window.
Can somebody confirm this. My dealer said that he loaded cip 20 but I think that he loaded cip 19:3 and I did not get any paperdoc

 

I just upgraded to 2x.xx software to get MP3 on warranty - a success. However, just noticed that this function no longer works for me too. When left (big) side iDrive screen is on Entertainment (MP3 CD) and right side (small) side iDrive screen is on NAV (map driving direction view) the Arrow View would automatically take the place of the Map View when an action (turn) needed to be executed about 1 mile beforehand and would go back to the Map View after the action (turn) was completed. Now, it just stays on Map View the entire time.

I missed my off-ramp/exit this weekend expecting the arrow to tell me the exit and 1 mile warning. I actually realized it wasn't working and was using the Map View and looking at freeway at the same time to judge if it was the right exit or not which, became dangerous. I was 20 minutes late to an important function.

I could get used to not having the arrow indicator helping in executing Nav actions but, wondering if it was something that will come back in a later version of software and if anyone else is experiencing this? Anyone find a remedy?

I previously had 17.1 software. It was a very useful feature. I don't like the Nav lady telling me when to turn especially when I miss a turn...nag, nag, nag...

 

Running on CIP 20 here, and my right screens shifts from "Computer" or "Journey Computer" to Arrow view.

I do always drive with the big screen on map, and the small on computer, and when it's time to make a turn, the smaller screen shows Arrow view as before...

I do never drive with the map on the small right screen, but I will try ASAP, to if it's the way you guys said

 

i am disappointed too-after 20CIP my small window does not go to arrow view unless i switch it manually,it's a step back in IMO,also i think the scale on a arrow view is different now-turns are shown like 1 mile before the actual turn,just like it did on early CIP-not to precise to my liking,when i had 16CIP-the arrow view would start showing turns 300 feet before.

 

However something else I noticed was if you are in the main Info screen and the just before the navigation wants you to do something the screen (left hand big screen area) turns into the Arrow view.
