Lately I have been experiencing my car staying longer in low gears in auto and a more severe change down really noticable, I have read on here that the latest softwear CIP 20 might cure this has anyone direct experience of this and are there any downsides to the upgrade like bluetooth phone pairing etc I have the 19.2 at present

Hi!
We have CIP 19.01 right now, and have the experience as you.. The car stays in the lower gear for longer than before, specially while driving in queing traffic. It's pretty annoying, specially with a diesel engine, which like low revs... After I got CIP 19.01 the fuel consumption has increased too.
I'm looking forward to CIP 20.01, and hope it would be very good (it's the last free upgrade, our warranty runs out at the end of March )

I have not had your problem. I felt no Step driving difference when moving from 19.01.01 to 20.01.00. Howver, my car did end up accelerating less rapidly after the update. I think my car had to learn to be fast again after the update. It still may not be quite as fast as before--perhaps because the update affected the way DSC and DTC work--i.e., it now is hard for me to get wheel spin with both nannies turned off.

I was on sth like 17 or 18 and moving to 20 has had a negative impact on the behaviour of the step box. Changes are a lot jerkier at lower speeds. I can feel the car shift whereas before it was seamless. Bored
