Hi all,
I have a late 2007, December build 2007, LCI 530D Msport.
It has the proffesional sat nav.
If I wanted to upgrade to CIC, what would be required besides codeing as most retrofits show new display (Will mine not work) New heater controls (Look exactly like I have now)
Cheers,

I have seen that link before but what I mean is, why do I have to have a new display, will the one in mine not work?
Why change the heater surreound, it looks exactly the same as what I have now?
Controller I understand.
Do I have to change the Idrive control knob????

i understand its a really long thread, but youve gotta read ALL 52 pages to get the info that you need.
but to answer your questions the quick way (and this still wont really help you make an informed decision w/o all the info) is this:
yes, you need to change everything. if you want the CIC system (which i recently installed) you need to swap out everything for it to be 100% function and look clean. that includes:
good luck. happy reading/researching

yes, you need to change everything. if you want the CIC system (which i recently installed) you need to swap out everything for it to be 100% function and look clean. that includes:
- CIC main computer unit
- CIC idrive controller (you will need to cut your center console and custom fabricate the proper placement)
- CIC Hi-Definition video screen
- CIC Hi-Definition video cable
- CIC Center Dash Trim (which is LCI so if youre pre-LCI there will be nasty gaps btwn all your AC Control buttons
- LCI AC Controls (this will allow additional HVAC controls via the CIC unit and get rid of the gap issues w/ the new trim piece)
- Farka antennae
- CIC OEM USB interface and Cable (used for media upload to the hard drive)
- CODING - and you will have to pay dearly for it. there really isnt much coding help out there...trust me i looked for it so fire up your paypal account, close your eyes and prepare to drop hundreds of dollars
good luck. happy reading/researching
