With my 330Cic I could enter a space/astericks sign as city name (wildcard) which displayed all street names in the selected country. This way you could select a destination without knowing the city, which comes in quite handy when you are not sure about the city name.

Anyone know how to do this with the Pro Nav system of the E60? I badly needed this function yesterday but couldn't find it. Am I missing something here or was my previous BMW nav system more advanced than this one?

You cannot select the street before the city, at least not with my early March version.

Have to select city first, though can simply edit an existing entry for speed. (on nav-pro)

Sorry for reviving an old topic, but I couldn't find any recent one regarding this issue.

I find it very annoying that I'm only able to enter street first if I clear the previous destination. The annoying part is that I have to enter country first (and Sweden comes way down in the country list.)

With my old nav system (VDO/Dayton MS5000) I could enter * as city (just as Johan wrote above).

Does anyone know if there's any upcoming software updates correcting this?

EDIT: Software was updated 11/04. Don't know to which version. Didn't solve the problem.

And Happy New Year.
