Hello all:
So my 2005 545i has had a strange problem. My driver side Chrome Trim molding [on the bottom of the window pane], is starting to "rise" from it's tape and no longer "sits" on the door frame properly. I wouldn't really care except for when you look at the side profile of the vehicle, the trim on the front door is on a whole different horizontal level than the one on the passenger door right behind it! Looks a little weird! If I press down on the drivers chrome trim, it falls back into proper place but this only lasts for a few hours and then it pops back up.
Anyone else experience this issue? Is the trim easy to get and change out as a DIY? Ive seen you write up shadow trim change outs but what about replacing an original chrome piece????

Unless you've clocked too many miles, you should be under warranty. Drop by the dealer and have them fix it... Never had this sort of problem on my old 545.

Nearly every e60 I've seen suffers from that. My two did as well.

Yeah exactly, every chrome trim E60 has it. Easiest is having the dealer fix it, it's 2minutes work. Or if you can't wait, do it yourself - lift the trim line and fix the sticky tape inside/beneath, it comes usually badly sat in. How easy is that. I was having this problem for about a month or two still thinking about buying a glue but it wasn't necessary. 8.000Kms past and it still holds like new.

I have about 60K miles on my 05 545i so I think that's probably what it is. Will have my dealer address it on the next visit down there. Gawd I love this forum!! Thanks all....
