Since disconnecting my battery at the weekend I have had a couple of idrive messages which seem to clear as fast as they appeared, however today my missus has just called to say there are at least 6 messages, one saying 'reduced power' another with a clock sign, another with the traction symbol etc, etc. The clock and the trip also reset at the same time. The car seems to be driving fine though with no problems.
This stems from me disconnecting the battery to start my paddle steering wheel install on Sunday, I also disconnected various connectors and modules in the ebox under the microfilter to gain access to the gearbox ecu connector.
Of course her in doors is blaming me for this so I need to resolve. Is it just a case of disconnecting the battery again and forcing a reboot?

Unless you mis-connected when you put everything back together (highly unlikely as most BMW electrical plugs are "unique" and can't be easily mixed up) OR maybe one or more critical plugs aren't securely connected, I suspect your car will have to relearn whatever system 'memory' was lost when things were disconnected and battery power removed during your DIY. It's possible after a few restarts and some driving time the alerts will go away.

Worse case is you may need to have some re-coding to correct things.

So should I try a battery disconnect again?
