My Ride: 05' 545i Sport Sapphire Black
In the manual it says Mobile 1 5w-30 or 5w-40. But on the mobile1.com website it says 0w-40
So which weight should I go with. Only have mobil1 available to me.

I cant remember how the weighting works, 0W30 is thinner than 5W30. When I had my 330i I used 5W30 as the manual says, I am not sure if 0W was too thin and could leak through especially if the engine has done a few miles.
I'd go with the manual.

Your car recommends 5w-35 but will 0w-40 will be fine. I run 0w-40 and if you read into any of the oil weights about 0w it basically acts the the same as 5w. No need to worry. Walmart has the best price usually on it.
If you hit up some local auto stores you should beable to track down Castrol (German formulated) 5w-35 which is what BMW oil is.
In all reality any 5w-35 fully synth. oil will work fine if you change your oil every 7.5K to 10K. All the BMW LL is that the oil has a few more (not sure what you want to call it) longer lasting protectants in it. But any synth. oil will last to 7.5K and all but the cheapest will get to 10K. There is some crazy oil forums out there that have people who actually do there own testing and have data galore on all different oils. Personally though since the price of BMW LL approved oil really isn't more expensive (sometimes is slightly more) you should just use it.

BMW's Long Life-2001 (LL-01) approved oils are:
BMW 5w30 (really a group III blended synthetic)
Mobil 1 0w40 (group IV full synthetic)
Castrol 0w30 (group IV full synthetic)
Lubro Moly 5w30 (group III blended synthetic).
The only ones of the approved oils that I found at local auto supply stores are:
1) Mobil1 0W-40
2) Castrol Syntec 0w-30 ( USA version ) found at Autozone
