HELP !!!!!!!!
my turbo went on my 530d, i had it reconned then fitted by a garage, now the car would not pull you out of bed. i have had a rolling road test done and its well down on power. I get a load hissing noise whenever i accellerate and the power comes at 35000 rpm , should come at around 1750-2000 rpm !! Ive had it to 2 garages including the tossor who fitted it and i'm really struggling. Any1 near sheffield ? i could really do with someone who knows bm's to have a look. It has cost me a fortune and i'm runnung out of money !!!
PLEASE HELP !!!

For sure it sounds like your losing boost pressure somewhere, maybe check your intercooler hoses are secured properly ?

Not suprised it 'hissed' at that rpm. It would make an m5 seem like a horse and cart.

Hmmm i would guess the seals in the turbo have not been fitted correctly, it should never have left the original garage in the state!!! i would take it back to the recon team, after all you have paid for a service that you havent recieved!!

As Rislar said, take it back to the garage that fitted it,did they supply the turbo as well?If so get them to sort it and don't leave until they do.

chance are it will be the hose connections, flaming stupid set up, very easy to misaligned the clip and it will blow off one side.

Get the garage to fix it, or the other one.

This seems to be a another expensive thrust in "garages"...

I had this with the Audi A6 2.5TDi when i bought it, i could hear a hairdryer type noise and the mpg was 15. I discovered that the hose from the turbo was loose with the jubilee clip rattling about, tightened the clip and the car was transformed..

It will be something simple, i'd visit the garage who fitted the turbo.

I had a very similar situations in my Supercharged trucks...I could hear air rushing out and NO power. Hose was split way in the back and I had to remove the upper part of my engine to get to it.

Good Luck.
