I have changed the MULF in my E60 2004 525i since it seemed to be broken, since I couldnt see any red light was travelling from the fiber optic cables.
Now to the thing, I bought another one from EBAY and changed it. Now I have the red blinking light at every port but still I donīt have any sound and the bluetooth "box" in the IDRIVE is unticked and
it is not possible to tick it in.
I was checking the number before I ordered it but wasnīt exactly sure what I should check for but the number I know was different was the VP5KAF on the one and the old had VP4KAF I donīt know if this makes any difference.
Also I want to mention that last summer I accidentely manage to break the fiber optic cables when I was welding underneath the car and after that I have took all the fiberoptics including the most ring from another E60 at the scrapyard.
I donīt know if this fiberoptic cables including the most ring need to be coded somehow or it just should work straight away.
So here to my question, why is my sound and bluetooth still not working but I do have the red blinking light at every port with the new MULF which I didnīt with my old one.
I post two pictures here from the old MULF number and the new one and maybe someone can tell me if they are same and it should work straight away or if I need to code it?
Or maybe I need to get a new MULF with right number if its wrong.
You bought an older MULF. Every module you replace in a BMW needs to be coded essentially. There are only a couple you can get away without coding but nothing dealing with audio. You need to program and code it and more than likely update it. It didn't have other stickers on it.
