Default Changed maff now high emissions warning ??

Been having trouble with my revs fluctuating/bouncing at around 2000rpm, so I replaced the maff which has solved that issue but now I'm getting the yellow engine management light come on with high emissions warning? Fault Code 3FF1 air flow meter signal ?

Any ideas or a way to diagnose the issue, I have inpa and BMW Carly at hand.

Car is e60 525d m sport 2007

Maybe you have the wrong or defective part? Maybe it's not plugged in all the way?

definitely plugged in properly although it was an aftermarket one.......oooops. My revs don't bounce no more which is good.

But I never get the emissions warning while driving it's only when I leave my car overnight and switch the ignition on first start. Now I always get some white smoke on first start, I was told this is normal after having the DPF removed.

So my theory is its picking up that first start smoke? I've not drove far enough yet to see if it removes the warning itself.

Ive just checked the coolant temps and after roughly 10-15 minutes they only reached 72 degrees which I'm guessing is low ? So I'm thinking new thermostat?
