I've heard from the dealer that the install of this part below the CD is not simple. I'll have the dealer do it when I order mine.

Rudy posted the instructions allready. It didn't looked like it's a simple job that can be done in a matter of minutes, but it looks like you can DIY.
Anyways, I'll have my dealer do it for me too.

He did? Do you remember where? I just did a quick search and found nothing.

I found it here.

Find attached the *.pdf Rudy posted in the above mentioned thread, regarding the removal of the center trim.

I guess I'm out of step here but I'm not sure that I like that extra trim at all. I think it's because it is wider at it's base than the section on the centre console which is narrow in front of the gear selector due to the thick curving edge of the trim that flows from the armrest. The different widths make it look awkward IMHO.

I have a storage compartment on that section of trim in my car anyway. This could have been a more useful storage area if the designer had thought to make it a little wider and given the base more of a cambered slope to keep items in there. As it is if you store anything in there it tends to fly out under braking or cornering.

If you're going to attempt it yourself, you really need to be following ALL the steps in the order I posted them in the other thread. Trying to follow the one that Iceman posted might be difficult without the prior (prerequisite) steps...

Good luck!
