My Ride: 2007 Sapphire Black Metallic 525i. Beige Dakota Leather, Premium package, bluetooth, BMW Assist, Xenon adaptive lights, Sirius radio
I hope it will be stored and can later be resolved.
Any idea what would cause it to come on and later go off? I know it was not the gas cap. Probably too many things could cause the CEL to come on and only way to find out would be if a code is stored?

Most likely cause of a CEL is a thermostat or O2 sensor....my CEl wasn't stored for some reason...when it popped back up I hurried to the dealer and it was a thermostat..
