Ok, I know most of you have seen the Artists and title of the song when you have a CD in the player.

Well, for the last year and a half, I haven't.

Yesterday I bought TWO cd's, and BOTH of them showed the artist and cd song (Click 5 and the Anna Nalick Cd's).? My buddy with me noticed it first.? THen we tried the Cold Play CD I bought last week (we were wondering if it was the software update with perspective view that did it). Alas, no CD Text on the Coldplay CD.

I thought it was pretty cool that BOTH Cd's had it.? None of the other CD's I've played since I bought the car in April 2004 have shown it.

Yeah, I was disappointed that the new Cold Play CD dosen't show text when playing in the in-dash CD player. The other CD that does show text is Evanescence. I don't know what label it is from.

We should have a section that lists CD's that provide the Text!

Or you can just reburn any CD and have the text added. It's quite a simple process...

Yes, CD-text is a Sony innovation. So other record labels don't have much inclination to encode their discs.

I'm pretty sure you can encode/add cddb info to your disc at the burn stage, I'll certinly be trying this when my e60 arrives hopefully this weekend, Sony may have invented the process but it's certainly not restricted to them.... try Nero when burning your CD/DVD's you'll see exactly what I mean, of course if the info is not on CDDB then it may be that you have to manually input this, a little time but no big deal, just go to Amazon for track listings.

AFAIC when I throw in a CD I want to LISTEN to it, not reading the text.
