me too. it paused when i mute it.

 

The CD pause/mute problem varies with different software versions.

I think on older versions, the button paused (desireable solution) but on a more recent version, the function reverted back to mute (by mistake, I think).

I'm not 100% certain but I think I remember hearing someone say that the much anticipated version 12 (coming in June) will put it back to pause.

A workaround right now to pause the CD is to first flip over to AM or FM (any radio band) then press the mute button. If you do that, the CD will be paused.

Mine pauses. I have a us spec and no nav or cd changer.

 

why do we have to put a bandade on something that cost $50K+. There should be a fix not a work around. The manual says this is how it should work and it should work that way I was pretty happy with my car until I started reading all these threads. People having to have the RPMs turn up. Switching to the radio so you cd will stop. This is not what we paid all this money for. Can't use SAT radio if you have NAV. have to turn off BMW asst to use BT. I know that this is a new model year but again there should be fixes not work arounds and the work around should not have to be made up by the consumer.
