If I mute ("switch off") the the stereo the the CD player is the selected source, it continues to play the cd (silently of course).

Is the only way I can get the CD to "pause", by changing to either the AM/FM source first?

I just got my 545iA (with premium sound) this past Saturday. For me the CD player works differently. When I mute the sound, the CD does pause. The track time in the bottom right corner pauses when I mute the sound and when I unmute, the song starts playing where I stopped it. I am using the mute via one of the programmable buttons on the steering wheel, not the button beside the cd player slot.

That is a strange one, brow'lm... mine pauses, both when i 'mute' on the programmed steering wheel button or on the dash... it also pauses when Traffic Reports come on...

this is with the CD changer: i always leave the Nav DVD in the dash-slot drive

cheers

My doesn't pause at all, either with programmed mute button or the in dash button. I've got the latest 'firmware' today and it didn't help. Though, which I haven't tried yet, is to be in entertainment menu when using one of the mute buttons, I'm always in the startup menu.

Best regards,
Reine

I noticed that some European versions have this problem. I've read about this problem on other threads. My CD player pauses either by the programable button or the dash button.

Well, I've tested today and the in-dash on/off button doesn't stop or turn off the CD (or DVD for that matter), only mute.

Dealer notified. I have a upgrade for voice control next week wich probably includes more updates to the software, maybe this will solve the problem.

Mine does not pause either. Just mutes. You can clearly see the counter continuing.

I have the 530i with Middle East specs
It paused when I mute it, it does that with all CDs. You might want to get a software update for that.

I just had an upgrade of my Navigation from Business to Professional. Before the upgrade the CD player paused (when muted). After the upgrade it only mutes, not pauses. Anyone that had that problem and have it solved?
