so i am looking at a 2006 e60 and one issue that bothers me is that cd player does not seem to eject right. when you hit the eject button the cd only comes out about an inch (you can't see the center hole at all). you then have to pull it out the rest of the way using a little more force than feels right. it's not supposed to be like this is it? is there some kind of easy fix or reset or something? the nav dvd in the slot below ejects like normal and comes out at least half way..
also, both the nav and cd don't come straight out ... they sort of 'swing' out from right to left. is that normal? thanks

has anyone else had this problem? is this a sign that the thing is breaking? a new cd / dvd unit is over $2k from the dealer!

If you find that happening with CD's you burn yourself it may not be your drive but that the CD's you burn yourself are 'thinner' than factory manufactured music CDs etc. That might be the real problem so to test it try to load and eject a factory-made CD ...say one you bought at a music store.
