CD Changer and MP3's
Guys - I've seen some stuff on here, but would like a quick summary from those in the know. I have discovered that you cannot play MP3's through the Cd Changer in the glove box, though the head unit plays them. I automatically assumed it would, but even the handbook states you can't.
I've probably stated a fact there that youi guys all know about!
So...question...how can one play MP3's through that changer, if at all? Or is it a replacement jobby? I've searched the web and apparently Sony and Alpine make changers that will work, but where's the best place to buy, and how difficult a DIY job is it?

The CDC is capable of playing mp3 but the CDC hardware isn't. Confused? Both the Dension and the BMW iPOD connection use the mp3 capability of the CDC but the OEM CDC itself has not yet been designed for mp3 discs.

I should have got the USB as an option, although i believe this can be retro-fitted.

Has anyone experienced problems playing some mp3 disks in the headunit?
This whole inability to play MP3's in the CD Changer etc is a bit disappointing. You really would have expected them to sort that out in the LCI, or make the USB port standard...small problem in the grand scheme...

Yes, they play, but I get "jitter" and "jumping" occasionally. Is that what you mean?
