My Ride: 530e G30

I didnt order Cd changer because I was "sure" of the MP3 function described with radio pro and nav pro.

Waiting to have this option available I use a portable MP3 Cd player with a FM transmitter as a temporary compromise.

For my needs one CD is sufficient if full of MP3.

I try to put a DVD with MP3, in the DVD slot: no way.

6-dish in dash is not extremely new, but with a cartridge, you don't have to worry about having your car in the shop because of a stuck CD in the in-dash changer. The cartridge design is proven and reliable.
If they dont want your car in the shop because a cd got stuck, then why did they put the I-drive in? The cars are in all the time because of software updates. I takes two days to do one. I would muh rather prefer a 6-disk in dash. If my cd's got stuck i'd add that to the never ending list of glitches to fix, and cup holder replacements. I think that they had a compatablilty issue.

Decent idea as a supplement, but to many people the idea of only having lossy compression music available would not be acceptable (even in a car).
Then nobody will be buying MP3 players and Creative's MUVo and Apple's Ipod can pack and go!!!!

Lossy? I beg to differ in opinion.. An audio CD is the equivalent of some 700MBs of data, do you know what can be stored in a 4GB micro-drive???

Erm, yeah just under 6x700mb .wav format CD's !?!

Do you understand what is meant by "lossy compression" or come to think of it did you think I mistyped "lousy"? PMSL if you did.

Google it.

Can an FM transmitter be used with an Ipod or other MP3 device?

It would be nice if the cartridge for the CD changer were located in the armrest, but that would take up the little storage room available.

I think the perfect spot would be right where the driver's cupholder is located.

I have used an itrip very successfully withe my ipod in my car.

It works well., will probably stop using it if any of the 3 drives read mp3's ie changer, single cd or dvd drive.
