Please visit your dealer. Some E60 are prepared for CD-changer - some are not. After installation youhave to update iDrive so the car is aware of the CD-changer.

I do not have a 5 series accessory catalog, but the 6 series catalog shows CD Changer as an after sales accessory option at an in the US price of $650 (I assume parts only). Parts catalogs for 5 and 6 series vehicles show identical parts for CD changer and miscellaneous parts for both series with any changes / updates occurring on the same dates. Should not be a problem adding this unit to whatever 5 u have.

[/quote]Went exploring in the glove box behind the 'false' back and found a plug nicely wrapped with another wiring loom in suede yes suede insulating tape (upmarket or what)
What I want to know from those who have a CD Changer fitted is this the CD plug.
Your help would be greatly appreciated have a look at the pics.
This could save me a considerable amount and OTHERS as I'm sure the dealer would charge the proverbial arm and leg for installing a CD changer.

I'd watch out..... I got my car used from a MB dealership (which does own a BMW dealership) and I told them that if they wanted to sell me the car I wanted them to throw in the factory CD changer. After going back and forth they agred and I actualy took the ride with my salesmen to there BMW dealership (in a few towns over) and he bought the cd changer and the bracket but was going to have the MB dealership's people put it in. The BMW guy said that if anyone but BMW put's it in and something happens it would not be covered.. Well MB did try it and they couldn't fig. it out and ended up having to take the car back to Boston to bring it to the BMW dealership to have them put it in...

Yea, I think about those say a few dollars, yen, pounds, reals, pesos, drachma, etc here and there, but in the end I take it to BMW as I know who I can take it back to and make it right for no ADDITIONAL charge. Everytime I have tried to do it another way it ends up costing me more in the long run.
Now you may be able to buy the BMW parts at a discount using a some large volume center and have your dealer install. In the US we generally can get BMWCCA discounts at our dealer. Don't know about ROW.
