Actually black absorbs all colors while white reflects all colors.

Not sure if that jibes with MiamiPhil or Russ??

You're both right (or wrong, if you a pessimist). It depends if it is an additive or subtractive color system. White is the presence of all color in an additive system, like a TV screen. Black is the presence of all colors in a subtractive system, like ink on paper.

However, paint is a subtractive system...
