Hi guys,
Yesterday my car was starting as normal.
Today I tried to start it and it wouldn't start.
The yellow light was on the dashboard infro screen, is it the battery light?
I could hear the starter motor whirring but couldn't hear any kind of ignition trying to start the engine?
All my lights seem to be working as well?
I tried to jump start it, I left the other car hooked up for 10 minutes before trying to start it but stil nothing happened.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

you heard the starter whirring, but did you hear the engine turning also? if not, then you have a bad starter. the starter has a solenoid which kicks the gear out and engages the flywheel. if the solenoid fails, the starter spins, but doesnt turn the engine.

I could hear a whirring sound, like somthing spinning when I turn the key, but I couldnt hear like an igniter sound or clicking sound of anything 'engaging'

well, have someone look at the engine while you turn the key. if the pulleys and belt turns, then the starter is ok, if not, bad starter.

Glad you found the culprit, Tom ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)
Also, maybe a good time to have someone test output voltages on the battery and alternator - just in case
