Only hand wash myself. I can't stand the way those damn horizontal swirl marks look, especially on a black car. Yeah, I'm kinda anal about it.

Plus Zainos is too damn expensive to let it be eaten away by whatever is passing for car wash soap nowadays in those places.

i don't have time to wash it myself

i drive a good 8 miles and 2 cities over to go to a respectable place

i've made friends with the owner, and this guy takes pride in his work

he loves it when people with nice cars and expensive mods trust him

it's a great setup, i don't mind paying the 25 bucks

I usually hand wash myself, but when I'm not up to it, there is terrific hand wash facility here in town (Car Spa) that I use. These guys are just as fussy as I am about washing and drying right down to raising the hood, gas cap, and boot to get after and hidden water accumulations. They even do a great job dressing the tires and wheels. All by hand.

Hand wash only by myself. Thats the exact reason why I don't go, because of those rails for the rims.

Hand wash only. My car isn't allowed in an automated wash, including the dealership's.

Great topic, lots of insight on the wheels. I was at the car wash yesterday (Eastgate Car Wash in Mount Laurel, NJ) and looking at the rails. They're fine for my stock 17's but I'm expecting a set of 124's to arrive any day now, and wondered about the added width of them and the car wash rails. Getting a good look at the rails I saw they were coated with some type of plastic sleeve so it may not be that big of an issue. Shot in the dark question - anyone with 124's ever use this car wash?

Try spending 2 days buffing out your black car for a perfect finish and then seeing the swirls only 1 automatic "soft touch" car wash leaves behind. I don't care how much soap and water they use, the filth is never washed away from the hundreds of cars that go through there and then takes its toll on your paint. I am hand wash only.

I hand wash mine myself...ALWAYS. If it's cold outside, I hook the hose up to the hot water heater spicket. I don't even let the dealer run it through their complimentary wash after a service. My policy...NOBODY touches my car, for any reason...unless I have NO other choice. The way I figure it...it they don't touch it, they can't screw anything up.
