My first BMW and I absolutely love it! I received my car less than 2 months ago and already drove 3000 miles. I have a 525i and couldn't imagine the experience in the 545... enjoy it!
hey, it's on my wish list
my first bmw also and i'm diggin' it. i'd get myself into some serious trouble if i had a 545. i don't want to think what i'd do in an m5.

thanks for the great read pkandck, although you're making me upset b/c i've been away on business and haven't been able to drive my e60 in two weeks. going home tomorrow so i'll be in the seat soon!

tell me about it, I used to get in trouble with my M3 and thoguth i matured enough... guess not Yesterday was the first time I red lined my car just because..ugh..ahhgg ..i dont know.. thre was this 645cic with 2 guys tailgating and wanting to play from one exit on the freeway tothe other one so i slammed it (i know bad bad) but the feeling was great after i was pulling away very easily and my heart was pumping blood so fast i got scared.. now back to normal driving, enjoying this sedentary beast every time.

The beer was great! Brewed it at a place called "Brew It Up" in Sacramento. The drive was on I80 west bound out of Sac around 1:00 am... Just gives me a warm feeling all over!

It is late and there is very little traffic. I have about a 30 mile ride all freeway to look forward to. Temperature outside is low 40's but the temperature in the car is a very comfortable 70 degrees. This car is really taking care of me... Anyway I get to the freeway on ramp and decide that it would be great fun to really merge quickly... Before I know it, I am doing 100 mph. I check over my left shoulder, check my mirrors and there is no one in sight.... a beautiful thing! I complete the merge, head for the number two lane and set the cruise for 85 mph... I've got Fleetwood Mac playing in the CD and the tunes turned up pretty high (Logic 7) its as though I was in the recording studio with them! The 545 is cruising with barely a ripple. The wipers occasionally sweep the windshield when the light rain accumulates on it. I am surrounded by an atmosphere of total security, serenity and joy. I am truly loving this car. Amazingly no one gets in my way, or slows me down. It is clear sailing all the way home. As I am driving I begin to really appreciate how wonderful these cars are. No vibration, no wind noise, smooth ride, great sound from the stereo and total confidence in the handling with engine power to spare. It was such a wonderful drive home that when I finally pulled the car into the garage I just sat in it and let the CD I was listening to comlete! Just thought I would share or try to put into words such an indescribable experience!
That gave me chill bumps. My car will be here Monday and I can't wait.

I have been now two weeks in Finland and after half a year I can say that I have enjoyed every second in my car. More than 2000 km already!

Well, maybe not when I drove it back to south with summer tyres in a snow storm on two lane road where big trucks run 85 km/h towards. It was bit scary 350 km. But I managed to make it what some other drivers could not , meaning: get home safe. One accident involved truck with trailer (24 m, 60 tons) and two cars. Very, very sad looking.

BMW brought me home even climbing on some hills was pathetic. 40 kph and yellow light on dash whole time.

Nicely said...had a similar experience coming back from Brussels this week...except there were a few cars I had fun passing on the Autobahn at 240+ kph!
