I started my car last night and it cranked for awhile before starting up. This morning the car started and it was very rough idle and this afternoon the car wont start at all! Just clicks ? Could this be battery?
2008 528i with 36k miles. Original battery.

BMW assist guy came and jumped the battery. Now a check engine light is on . I drove around the block and turned off the car numerous times to see if it will clear.

It would likely only clear after driving for a while. Just take it in - you've got warranty - use it!

The symptoms you described are troubling. I wouldn't trust any BMW Dealer Service Department ... Go to the closest Jiffy Lube or Sears Auto Service. They have the technology and expert training to set you straight
NOT!
For real - IF your car is not driveable call your dealer service center and have them flatbed it to their shop. They should arrange a loaner - something comparable if available. The possibilities are endless but ONLY let BMW touch your car. Don't go trying to be amateur mechanic because if YOU screw up something your BMW warranty coverage will fade away like your money at a Democratic Fund Raiser.

Maybe by now you have 't figured out that your car isn't going to mend itself .
If you continue to operate it with "obvious" systems faults (the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT means just that!) your BMW dealer may be justified in denying warranty coverage for repair.
MOST BMW Dealer Service Centers are open on Saturdays -- my recommendation is if your dealer is more than 15-20 miles away call your SA and ask that your car be flat bedded in for proper diagnostics and repair under warranty. They should be able to provide a free loaner if the repair can't be managed on a Saturday.

Check with the dealer service manager for their policy on loaners for BMW Warranty work that can't be completed in a reasonable amount of time. It doesn't matter (at least in my experience as a BMW owner for 20+ years) where you purchased the car. If you can't get it in until Monday I'd keep driving at a minimum. With luck it may be a simple correction - the 528's are pretty trouble free.
