I can no longer unlock or lock all my doors by inserting it in the drivers door and turning. Any idea how this happened?

Check the settings in idrive. If I remember it right, there's an option for this ...
I can be wrong though.

Hmm, I'll take a look. But that would be strange, since I havent changed any idrive settings...

That's pretty odd - that would present quite a problem if your battery goes dead and your key fob doesn't respond! I suspect there is a problem with the driver door lock or door module. Try reinitializing your keys and if that doesn't work you should have that checked out by a dealer ASAP.

Well, I know my fob doesnt work, which is why I manually lock and unlock my doors. Over the weekend, I noticed I stopped hearing the alarm notification when I lock and unlocked. Payed more attention, and realized its only locking and unlocking the drivers door alone, instead of all 4 and trunk.

Do you have comfort access(CA)? The CA key fob batteries can be replaced if they are dead. Try the reinitializing process described here or in your manual.

If comfort access carries the feature of being able to remotely start your car, I do not believe I have that feature.

comfort access is where you just touch the handle and the door unlocks. Also u dont need to insert the key in the ignition to start. Mine started acting funny, replaced the battery and its like new.

Just got it back from the dealer. Door latch wasn't sending a proper signal to the car. Replaced under warranty
