i've only made it to 145mph but I had PS2s with over 1K miles on them and were running for over 1 hour at lower speeds before we hit top speed

ive been a passenger in an M5 that was delimited, and broke 160mph whilst overtaking cars that were likely 90mph slower in the inside lane. For a couple hrs later, i was still wide eyed. I would never do this myself as there is just too much scope for things to go wrong, regardless of the legal limit. I would be more concerned at the sensibility of doing that speed with others on the road rather than harming the car.
Next time, take it to 155 and step on the brakes and let us know what that feels like - i bet thats a lot more of a rush!

These cars handle quite well at high speeds and the M5 was truly built for such driving. Braking from over 100mph on these cars felt pretty normal to me. If you are used to driving at these speeds then its no problem.

PS: I did my track weekend with 3000 miles on the car so no break in issues.

Perhaps you havnt had someone 100mtrs ahead of you pull out in front of you, and it takes 200mtrs to lose the speed? I have at only 120mph, and if they hadnt have moved back in, one or both of us would have been toast!
155mph will take a ballistic amount of time to stop, or drop speed to match other (say 70mph) vehicles.
I would reccomend a reality check - brake from 155 and see how long it takes - do it near a dealer as you will likely need new pads
