Okay, i just tried it on my lunch break, held it down for 35 sec, didnt hear any "reset" noise from anywhere, the shifting is still the same, maybe 10% less harsh, but the jolt is still there!!!
no 35 secs.... it should be exactly 25 secs and there is "click" or noise that reset. Try it again.

This is interesting, as I just experienced this 2 days ago? I was driving in DS mode and felt what a I can only describe as a 'jolt' at 65mph. I'm not taking any chances and will bring it to the dealer. I've not driven it in DS since feeling that.

Believe it or not, my dealer told me that this is almost to be expected in DS mode.

well. i tried it last night, and this is the outcome...
I did not hear any click noise, but did hear some slight noise of something moving after 25sec. but it had to be super quite to hear it.
The shifting did change some more, maybe another 10%, but still jerky. I did different driving styles.
1. a smooth launch from a stop, (simulating a grandma driving) still jerky.
2. a fast launch from a stop (pedal on the floor), and NO jerking...

So i dont get whats happening.

"porsche911targa" r u serious, they said its normal or expected in Sport mode, thats ridiculous !! im going to take it in tomorrow and see what they can do..

I heard the same from my dealer brother, sorry.

I think yours may be stronger than ours though and that is probably why you want it fixed. Do yourself a favor take the SA with you and demo then ask right after if that is expected. In those situations that method has worked best for me. Good luck man, and even more good luck on the M5 lol

Yes, I was serious. The SA said something about all the DS does is change the rev points and eliminates some synchro "something or other" but I stopped listening because I was so angry. Anyway, they ended up replacing my transmission under warranty and so far so good but I never use the DS mode, just in case.

Okay, at the dealer at the moment, they could not duplicate the prob , and now they are going to do a diagnostic check, and apparently the car is shifting normal, and no errors, !!!
What gives, every time they can't redo the prob, it always happens! So I'm stuck with this, ohh well its documented
