Hey guys I have a 2004 520i. Last Friday I got a active steering fault display on my idrive. Because it was late I had to wait till Monday for a tech to check it. Yesterday I started the car and after 1min it cut off. Up to now it can't start. I'm expecting a tech anytime now. In the interim can anyone tell l me why this is occuring? Please take note the car is parked on an incline with the front in the lower position.

Iiii

I took out the battery this morning and tested it. It was good. Any other suggestions?

Guys my mechanic solved the problem. It was the starter. It was simple, the vehicle was scanned and showed no faults. He knocked the starter and the vehicle tumbled. It wasn't tumbling before. The starter got hot. Luckily I could get it repaired.

Might want to start pricing a new starter. The tapping trick is only a band aid.

I have the option of repairing with new parts....which I believe I will do.
