Does your car live in a perfectly windless environment when parked? Car covers are not at all kind to paint finishes if they can move even in the slightest.

+1 gcvt, I was gonna say the same thing. I think you end up with more damage when using a cover, mainly due to contamination that can collect in the cover and if the cover becomes loose and is shifting or moving around due to wind etc... This might be an option if you had to store the car for a while but solid securing of the cover should be a very high priority. We seen one this morning at the AFB and the cover was completly off the car and only being held by one strap at the front.

Thank you for the reply. I did check this out, but i was wondering if there were any better ones that would not scratch the paint.

I actually don't. The car is parked in the driveway but wind still hits it. I thought it would have helped protect the car.

Thank you. I may stay clear of the car cover then. The only reason I wanted the car cover was to protect the paint job and also hide the car from haters who may want to key it. I guess i'll just leave it.

Hmm, well, you could always get a Pit Bull to hang out around your car to protect it. But a car cover would not protect it agaist someone wanting to key it, they would simply just lift it up and do the deed. Chances are then you would not know it happened until you removed the cover.

Best way to protect your paint is a good sealant and wax! No cover will be "best" and not scratch the paint. Grit/sand/dust will get under the cover and THAT will scratch your paint - the soft, fuzzy cover liner just gives the grit something to stick to.

Get you a tent!

What kind of protection are you looking for? I have a Covercraft Technalon Evolution that I purchased at CoverQuest.com. The cover is great for outdoor environment. I also heard that The Dustop is great for indoor protection.
