This was forwarded to me by my father today, just wanted to share. Stay healthy guys, for you and your family

Do not turn on A/C immediately as soon as you enter Your .... CAR!

CAR A/C-1.gif

Please open the windows after you enter your car and do not turn ON the
air-conditioning immediately. According to a research done, the car dashboard,
sofa, air freshener emits Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin (carcinogen- take note
of the heated plastic smell in your car). In addition to causing cancer, it poisons
your bones, causes anemia, and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure
will cause Leukemia, increasing the risk of cancer may also cause miscarriage.

CAR A/C-2.gif

Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq. ft. A car parked indoors with
the windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene. If parked outdoors
under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up
to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level... & the people inside the car will
inevitably inhale an excess amount of the toxins.
CAR A/C-3.gif

It is recommended that you open the windows and door to give time for
the interior to air out before you enter. Benzene is a toxin that affects your
kidney and liver, and is very difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.

A link to the actual research would be more useful than these pictures....how are pictures of AC systems relevant to the plastics off-gassing in a car?

My wife got a Tsunami warning in her email last night for July, at least they had a little diagram of where the quake will be

The whole idea of this thread is that, even if it is hot outside, let the car ventilate to get rid of the harmful gases that are inside the car so that you don't inhale them.

A lot of people ( and I've seen plenty of them), just turn on the A/C directly, thinking they are ventilating the car, thus keeping the harmful gases inside the car and circulating throughout the entire trip.

Well the Automatic Climate Control apparently will pull in air from outside the car unless it detects pollutants in the outside air in which case it will then recirculate the inside car air. When starting my car it comes on automatically, I don't know how long it technically takes to replace a car full of air but I would imagine not more than a couple of minutes. If you manually switch over the air circulation to manual then you would be sitting in the same air, it warns you not to do that for too long in the car manual actually.

The only way I could avoid everything that was going to kill me would be to live in a plastic bubble. Then, I'd probably die in an earthquake or house fire.
I think I'll just enjoy life eating and drinking what I want and breathing in that cold air on a hot day!
