Been searching for a e60.

Which would you buy?

1.) 2005 545i - 35k miles - CWP, Sport, PDC, Nav, Prem Sound ($32k list)

2.) 2006 550i - 17k miles - CWP, Sport, PDC, No Nav ($35k list)

I would think that in buying a used car, there would be more variables considered than just mileage, options, and price. How are the conditions of the cars? Service records/history? What else... Hmmm...

Assuming that all else is the same, I would choose performance over options. also the newer one will give you one more year of warranty, which is definitely something that should be taken into consideration, not that bmw's breakdown all the time but when they do its not nice to the pocket books.

Both are previous one-owner off-lease cars. Both have been detailed and appear to be in good and smiliar condition.

From my own inspections, it doesn't appear that any accidents have occured. I typically look for stickers that are missing, overspray, I check to see if any of the paint on painted nuts/bolts have been taken off and put back on. I look under the car to see if there are any clamp marks from a frame straightening machine... I only wish I had a paint meter guage so I could check the body panels.

What is CWP? Current waranty protection? Are the vehicles CPO'd by the dealer? Extra 2 yrs/50,000 not as inclusive as the 4/50,000 though.

If you choose more options, go to 545i...
If you choose performance, go to 550i...

Personally I prefer the 550i not only performance. it is low in mileage, more new and more time on warranty.

I guess colors may play a part for me as well, Int and Ext.

+1 for the 550i. Only difference appears to be Nav, which IMO is NOT a deal breaker....

GL with your purchase decision

+2 for the 550i.

Unless your really need or really want the OEM Sat Nav system, I'd go for the 550i because it is newer and has less than half the miles. BTW, what color is the 550i and the 545i (exterior and interior)?
