Hey everyone,

I just got my e60 in May and I am still getting familiar with the car. A second ago I was opening the trunk using what I thought was the trunk button, instead I was holding down the unlock button (the one with the arrow) and realized that it also rolls down the windows and sunroof. My question is , can I roll the windows back up using another button? Sorry if it's a stupid question.

Not stupid, but it's been discussed on this forum ad nauseam. Do a search and you will find that they cannot be "rolled" back up. It's a one-way street.

you could roll down all windows, unlock the driver's door, and open the sunroof by inserting the key into the driver's door keyhole and turning the key to the left and holding it i believe. you could then close the sunroof, lock the door, and roll up the windows by turning the key and holding it there the opposite way. nothing by button though as said by vt and drlev.

You can close all the windows (incl. sunroof) by holding the BMW (lock) button until they're all closed. Thats how it works for me in Australia. Same applied to my old E46.

That's also true of the UK and probably the rest of Europe too but the US, being such a litigious society, is probably too high risk for BMW NA to allow the feature there.

I wonder if the same applies to Canada?

Euro spec cars will roll down windows if you hold down the unlock button and roll them up again if you hold down the lock button. It is my understanding however that the latter function is disabled for the US market whic, I guess, is where you are located, Vermillo (?)

That's correct.

Plus: Outside the USA it also can be programmed to fold the mirrors when holding the lock button pressed. So it closes all windows, sunroof and folds the mirrors.

Therefore the USA has the panic feature on the remote, I think exclusively.

They added the panic feature to the US models so that when we automatically roll up the windows on our arms or our children we can press the other remote button and panic. Who in the US is making these rules that says we can't automatically close our windows with the remote.
