Default Cant drive my car because of coilovers :(

Hi everybody, sadly on Friday I took my car to get coilovers installed from a suspension shop as I didn't have time for the DIY at this point in time...Surprisingly the stock rims and tyres on my 2005 BMW 525i E60 (pre-lci) model rub against the springs on the front of the car when lowered...even on the hoist!!!

So because of where I live I don't have access to extended lug bolts or spacers and my car is now stuck on the hoist until I can sort it out

Does anybody have any suggestions on what size spacers would suit the front and rear best and the length of the lug bolts to suit the spacers?

I've been told the stock lug bolts have approximately 25mm of thread/ shank therefore say for a 20mm spacer I would need approx. 45mm thread on my extended bolts is this statement correct?

thanks for any help in advance!

I dont know if you have ISC coilovers on your car but I had the same issue when installing my set. It was a nightmare. Howd you make out?

Not to worry get some 5 or 10mm spacers with slightly longer bolts. All coilovers are thicker in spring and valve body then the stock struts. This is not a uncommon problem when switching over! Next you wanna make sure your sway bar endlinks are in their correct neutral position. I have a thread with picks and measurements : https://5series.net/forums/e60-discu...beware-117337/

Be careful with 5mm spacers because they will not be hubcentric and cause vibration. get 10 mm spacers to be safe.

Actually in my experience, 5mm are ok. 10mm are the ones that sit flush with no hubcentric rings. I would go for 12mm.
