can't decide... new 528 or 2006 530
Hi Everyone--
I've been lurking and reading for a few months and have learned a lot. I currently have a 2002 325... I'm the original owner... and I want to add a 5 to the family. I'm torn between a 2006 530 and a new 528. I've driven and love them both. The 530 has 28,500 miles, and comes with the premium and sport packages, and navigation. The CPO price is $36,950, but I would look to buy it for $34,000 tops. The new 528 is a great car, and with the offer of the free premium package and .9% financing, I could order a new one with premium and navigation for roughly $10,000 more than the 530.
Here's the dilemma. Since I work at home, I only drive around 4000 miles a year, and whichever car I choose, will hopefully last a long time with proper care. The new car would give me the 4 years of maintenance. The 530 CPO contract would give me three years of warranty, but just one of maintenance. All things being equal... which do you think I ought to go with? I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks. But then, if I am going to keep the car for many years, splurging and getting the new one also makes sense. But then the 530 was just a rocket... I loved it. But I also loved the 528. This is driving me crazy.
If you had to choose, which one would it be?
Thanks very much for your help. I am really TORN.

Get the new one if you can. Since you can spec it out to exactly how you want it.

Check the BMWUSA website. They are offering low rates on 05 and 06s. Insurance would be cheaper on an older car and tag? may be cheaper too. In MS the tags can run over 1,000 and that is tag not taxes, which, will be cheaper on the CPO as well.
