My Ride: 2005 E60 BMW 525i - BIRTHDAY- 11/04 - EXTERIOR- Amethyst Gray Metallic. INTERIOR- Beige Dakota Leather w/Dark Poplar Grain Wood. OPTIONS- Automatic Transmission, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, 6-disc CD changer, Bluetooth using Verizon Raza V3c phone, SIRIUS Satellite Radio. ADD-ON's- 545i Chrome Grill, Euro Red Reflectors, Factory all-weater matts & Factory Coat-Hanger.
I think I read that you CAN NOT have this done, but just for the heck of it can you? I got my car second hand so I didn't do the ordering (believe me if I did I so would have had Xenon's first!!!) and was just wondering if and how much it would be to install from them....

My Ride: 535d Sport, carbon black, media pack, visibility pack, grey leather, heated seats, sun protection glass, voice control, Eibach ProKit, 19" 166 style wheels, e-maps ECU remap to 325hp and 640NM, top speed limiter removed
nearly everything can be retrofitted. It always only depends how deep your pockets are and if it makes sense.
Many people prefer aftermarket Nav solutions to the BMW one. Well, if I can spec it up from new, or the car has it anyway, I'll have OEM nav, as it just suits the package.
I would not at all go the extra lengths to have it retrofitted. I'd rather go for some other solution.

Yes it can be retrofitted. BMW offered to retrofit NAV for a few 2004 / 2005 cars for the same price of ordering NAV. $1800 a while back. the deal was good through May 2005. There was a official BMW release about it. But I think they only offered those cars with the nav prep option installed option 6UA.
Here check this guide.

now $1,800 isn't bad is it? I mean the portable ones are between $700-1200 and this one is in dash... How does this one add up to one of those? I had a factory on on my 03 Lincoln LS and you could talk to it, like "I'm hungry" and it would show restraunts and I could say "Italian Food" and it would show Italian food places in my area... pretty cool.. but it didn't show the sun and moon like what I have seen on pic's from the bmw one....

You can only retrofit Nav if you have the Pre-wiring for Nav... You can do a search on what the code is to know if you are pre-wired for it or not. If you don't have the pre-wiring you are out of luck. There is no way around it.
