My Ride: 2004 545i

I just picked up an 04 545i. Does anyone know if the stock head unit and/or the CD changer are capable of playing a CD full of MP3 files? or can it only play Audio CDs?

My Ride: BMW 525d M Sport 2006

from a personal experience .... anything pre-07 won't play mp3 unless you do the software update

i have 07 and it plays mp3 fine.
