Can only get a maximum of 13 CIP updates?

It looks like the programming limit lies in the DME/DDE so I suppose if you hit the limit, a new DME could be installed and the counter would start over...

That would be true. It is Progammable Module dependent. Cannot remember if it is the manufacturer that determines the number or the material (silicon wafer, etc) that does it. Probably in the D.A.T.A books for the chips but I have not been around them for awhile.
