Can I use difference Tyres
I currently have Run Flats 225/50 R17 94W on my 525d, however Michelin Sports is only available in 225/45 R17 91Y - so can I replace my existing 225/50's with 225/45's without changing the Rims - and is it a good idea
Thanks

Personally, I'd fit another brand - I'd recommend the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 from the available brands...

I had the same concern as you. After checking around, I went ahead and put 225/45R17 winter tires on my 530xi (stock all weathers are 225/50R17). The 45 produces about 3/4" lower profile compared to the 50. Small change to speedometer and gas mileage. So far, no problems. It's not optimal, but I don't believe it's a problem.
