My car was in for A/C regulator and fan motor changes last February.

Now I have the some problem once again

Meaning that the fan will not give more airspeed than "two on the scale",
not in auto mode nor manual.

Hi,

I had similar problem on my last e39. Airflow was erratic, sometimes no air at all, sometimes only very little air. Problem was the blower regulator. Same thing happened to my dad as well (twice).. and yes the same part. Thank god, I haven't had any issues with E60. It was very easy to replace on E39 .. costs about 90 euro.

Check this link (problematic regulator is market as item number two) :

You have probably changed this part already, so it's unlikely to cause problems right away. But it's my guess though. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer hillokone,

I also had the same problem with my '01 LCI E39 525iA.

The problem is, with the E60, that the regulator is now relocated in the dash.
It takes about 6 hours to do the change job!

But this is what makes me really mad:

I told my car dealer yesterday about this problem and now they told
me that parts that have been changed under warranty do not have the
normal two year guarantee.
