:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :
Well guys (and a few gals...speaking of gals whatever happened to "miss5452U"...she was amusing) I?m out?loved driving the 545 but couldn?t deal with any more trips to the dealer for service. So after an E60 525 (sold), a 545 (bad paint, dealer took it back) and yet another 545 (aprox 9500 miles, 9 months and 37 days in the shop for 14 different items...and another visit scheduled )?I?m out. Problems ranged from squeaks and rattles to a new gas tank, steering rack, a tranny that would slam into gear?and a horn that would honk when the car went in reverse?but despite all those issues the car was so good to drive it really didn?t bother my all that much?but the shine certainly wore off?and it just started to not be fun anymore.

Even with all that it was going to be a real fight to get BMW to take the car back?so with full-disclosure I sold the car to someone that didn?t seem to mind?and I?m sure that they?ll have many years of enjoyable driving.

I really think I just had a string of bad luck?and my problems are certainly not indicative of the brand (so I think)?but for me personally I?m done for now?and have a new car sitting in the garage. Not going to get into what I have now because it doesn?t really matter?suffice to say it is slower than the 545 and certainly doesn?t handle as well although it too comes from Germany (also lowered on 19's but with a pano roof...no guessing at what I bought).

I?ll still be lurking this is a great forum?and I still want to stay close to what is going on?can?t wait for the 550 evaluations to start rolling in.

You all have great cars! Enjoy them?bye for now

I doubt they'll fit on the benzo.

Sorry to hear about your probs dude. I understand how you feel. Mine is an 04 and it's been great so far. Just some really minor stuff like cup holders, door seals, etc. Nothing major, not even the tranny slam.

Maybe you'll reconsider once the 550i comes out.
