Im looking to purchase a high mileage 2004-onwards 525d/530d. The mileage will be most likely be over 100,000.

Other than the usual checks, is there anything specific that i need to check? is it correct the diesel particle filters need replacing at 100,000 miles?

swirl flaps, exhaust manifold, engine breather filter, EGR thermostat and if its an automatic, make sure it performs right and keeps rpms stable.

Listen for turbo whine sound in 1400-1500 RPMs. Usual symptoms when turbocharger is dying slowly (but also could be just a small hose issue)
