Skidster, I would beg, borrow or steal the 2004-2 disc from the dealer. I have a STRONG suspicion this will solve the TMC problem, as I believe the UK portions of the TMC database were incorrectly coded on previous discs. [/quote]
not much help if it says wrong version/shutdown...
otherwise, compared to pulling teeth from my dealer, can anyone send me a cloned disc to try it before i buy it, so to speak?

I don't know if this is the same on bus nav, but on pro nav it says TMC when the service is active.
So if you see this on your display you should receive TMC messages.
The nav will tell you when there is some trouble (traffic jam, accidents...) on your route and will ask you if you want to avoid it and if you want to take a different route/detour.
