You will need to open the hood of the car, remove the engine cover and look around the engine with flash light. Look for any oil residue around the perimeter of the valve cover and oil filter housing area. Also, look around the exhaust manifolds.

Without looking at the car, if I have to guess, I 'd say the valve cover gasket is leaking oil and drips on the exhaust manifold and that oil is burning.

Check the obvious... gotta get the hood opened and the engine cover off as pcy stated. Sometimes you can even tell without taking the cover off if something is leaking. You shouldnt see any moisture in the bay... also get the car on a lift or on ramps and take the shrouds off so you can fish around.

What type of burning smell is it? Electrical? Sweet like antifreeze? Like oil?? Like gears/tranny oil?? Are you leaking anything? are there ANY signs of drippage on your garage floor/driveway/parking spot? Put cardboard underneath and let it sit overnight if you are unsure...
