I am guessing it's possible with the car in neutral, revved to max...then drop it in gear while holding gas down. It might not be good for the car, but you should get some spin this way, with DTC off. I was able to spin all 4 wheels on my old 530xi...granted with more HP & torque.

I've actually already spun the wheels in my new 6-sp 550i...but only because some dude pissed me off when he went through a stop sign before his turn. I had forgotten how easy it is to do it with a manual...even with DTC on.
Now if only my dealership owed me 2 new rear tires instead of just 1, I could have had some real fun this past week.

Ok hold on here.......Whoever has a 545, 550 or an M5 for that matter, and can't easily spin the wheels should to do things......first check your VIN to make sure they bought the right car and not just a badge swap or something. Second, get that car in for service. It is just way to easy to spin the tires in this car even without hammering the gas or being in sport mode (on the auto). My guess is that you are not properly turning of the slip control. There are two things you can turn off......one is by simply pressing the DSC button and the second is by holding it down for about 5 seconds. You want to hold it down for about five seconds and then it will show you the big yellow arrow going in a circle on your dash....meaning that the traction control is off.
