I am guessing it's possible with the car in neutral, revved to max...then drop it in gear while holding gas down. It might not be good for the car, but you should get some spin this way, with DTC off. I was able to spin all 4 wheels on my old 530xi...granted with more HP & torque.
Enjoying the 550i Doc?

I think the guy wants to see white smoke coming out from his wheel wells... Not just hear the chirping of the tires spinning.

I was never able to do it on my 530xi. The AWD didn't allow it. I even tried many times after I did all the engine mods too. Still nothing.

I managed to get my tires to spin in the 545 and 550. Problem is, I'm getting serious wheel hopping issues, wonder if its the traction control not fully switching off or something else.

Spinning the tires in a 545/550 is no problem. Doing it in one of the I6's (525/528/530) with AWD on top of that, and it's pretty much impossible to do. However, you can easily do it in a RWD 530. I did it in Anthony517's car last year.

Try wetting the pavement down, at all 4 tires and in DTC mode. You won't get smoke but you might get tire spin. But I bet it still hooks and takes off.

Try pouring Clorox on the tires before you try the burnout, if you can get them hot enough, they should produce significant smoke, followed by total ignition. I seriously doubt the 528 ix is going to make even a small chirp, even with DTC off. I have tried in my 911, loading the tranny by holding the brake pedal down and applying full throttle, and then letting it fly. This is from a vehicle producing 500 hp, 480 Ft/torque, and hits the curb at 3500 pounds. The absolute best burnouts are from the TD Ford...it will make enoough smoke to hide a small state behind..
