You will need a Fiber Optic (OPS) cable to do coding yourself. If you use the standard ODBII cable, it will take days for the coding to complete. Also, you need to invest in a very good battery charger as after 30 minutes or so in the coding process the battery discharge warning starts popping up.

The GT` is not very expensive. Have a pro build it. unless you like to do the learning curve. Let me know how it works out.

Hit a snag during software install, accidentally put the laptop into hibernate and now it refuses to start up, In was halfway through installing DIS and GT1 as well. I f any one can help me get the laptop working I would
appreciate the help.

Looks like this will work if and when I can get it sorted. I have the software with full instructions if any one wants a copy, Software includes DIS GT1 and SSS Progman, full VMware setup and instructions, PM me for details.

Are you using it with XP or a Win98 VM? I have an old laptop that i was going to load Win98 on to use as a dedicated lappy.

Also anyone know about the fiber option? I have like 7-8 old computers that i wouldn't mind building one with a fiber NIC if that would get me closer to the real thing.
