Has anyone here tried nitrogen in their tyres instead of normal air? I just pumped nitrogen into my tyres today. Seems that they give a smoother ride.
You also may see that key parameters of O[sub]2[/sub] and N[sub]2[/sub] are not dissimilar.

We all usually put in 80% nitrogen!

Meaning that I over inflated them if I pumped 2.2bar for the front and 2.7bar for the rear?
So Nitrogen and air are "the same" as far as putting gas into tyres.

Meaning that air is 80% Nitrogen and Oxygen's (the major balance of the remaining 20%) compressibility isn't that different.
So Nitrogen and air are "the same" as far as putting gas into tyres.

I see. Thanks for the clarificarion. So it can be said that Nitrogen is a waste of money then. Could be my mentality, but I did notice that the ride was not as noisy as when using normal compressed air.

My Ride: Black/Black 2004 530i w/ Premium & Sport Pkgs.
I have the same Bridgestone tires on my car here in the US. During my last service appointment w/ my non-dealer BMW mechanic he set the front tires at 36 psi and the rears at 38 psi. Hope that helps!
